Wow it's been a long time

Holy cow! I didn't realize it had been so long since my last post. My job has kept me very busy. Tonight I am teaching a class at Joann's. We are making my Card Organizer.

I changed 2 of the flowers after I took this picture. It now has the scrunchy round flowers that have 11 layers. My students will learn how to make covers, make pockets, determine cover and page dimensions, how to make the scrunchy round flowers. They will learn about the Cricut and the Cricut Design Studio, the Bind-it-all and centering edge punches, creating dimension using foam dots, sponging and color coordinating.

So I'm off to gather the piles of things I need to take with me to the class...OMG there is a LOT of stuff!

SSSSHHHHHHHHush, we're pretending it's cool outside

Over at the Happi Sisters design team we are all pretending it is getting cooler and Autumn is just around the corner. For Texas that means at least two more months of heat...yuck!

Any way --- I bought some really adorable pre-made card kits from Krafty Karen (see Charlene's blog post for more info about Karen and her wonderful talent) and one of the cards was a triple easel card that I just had to try. I LOVE the layout of this special fold card, I don't think it could ever come out less than fantastic. It automatically sets you up for success.

I used my newest doodle - Tatters BOO!' for the card and some fun papers I bought at Joann's this weekend. I colored Tatters with watercolor pens and inks.

Hi peoples,
Baby Basset wants to be a part of the Doggy Calendar too! After all he has the prettiest ears in all the hood! He thinks little ears are a funny sight, did the doggy designers run out of stuff to make ears? Oops, maybe really long ears are a problem too. He trips on his ears every time he takes a walk-ee-pooh. What is with these doggy designers anyway? Maybe Holden's ears are just right.

Hey ladies,
I am so amazed! I received an email a few weeks ago from Namita from Pocket Change - Become.com. She wanted to feature my blog/shop in her monthly Best Of Blogs post. WOW!!! I am so flattered and surprised that my little blip of a blog receive such great notice. Take a look at this post. There are 30 blogs she features in this post and OOOH Boy am I surprised to be among them. Oh my goodness, the pictures of the yummy foody blogs had my mouth watering. A couple of cards and blog candy

My nephew just became a daddy to a beautiful baby boy. We are all so excited because they already have 3 gorgeous girls.

Image is Bassinet Bows colored with water pen and ink. I made the flowers with a flower punch from the same accent paper.

A friend is going to a baby shower and she asked me to make a special card. The mommy is decorating the nursery in gnomes, mushrooms and owls for their new baby boy soon to be born.

The images used are - Sitting Gnome, Mushroom, Owl Be Seeing You. I colored them with water pen and ink. The background is embossed with a cuttlebug folder.

Card drive for a very brave man

Hi everyone - The SCS teapotters have a special request this week.
We heard from a fellow teapotter about a friend who was severely injured over in Iraq. He stepped on a landmine and lost both legs and an arm. He is young and his wife is expecting a baby soon. We are doing a card drive for him. We would like to send as many cards a possible to cheer him.
He loves the beach and sports, but please no reminders of the service.

I made this card for today's Teapot Tuesday party. Our cards are supposed to be round. When this card is closed it is round but when opened it turns into a scallop. Does that make me a cheater? LOL

I used my Cricut for the shaped pieces. And embossed the background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I tipped blue flowers with a plum pen.

The image is 'For You Bear Bouquet'.

Tea Pot Tuesday and A new For You Bear card

I saw some beautiful white on white cards and just had to try it.

I embossed the card panels and leaves with different Cuttlebug folders and cut the flourish with my Cricut Story Book cartridge. The roses are premade ribbon roses.

The image is my new For You Bear Bouquet.

I made this a couple of weeks ago and forgot to post it. This is "For You Bear". That week the challenge was to add stitching to your card. Well, I did...sort of. I did faux stitching on all the panels inside and out. I'm sure you are familiar with the punch and pen technique to makes stitches. For You Bear also has stitching all over him but he already had them so luckily I didn't have to punch little wholes in him too. Whew! I water colored him in browns and on his tummy, cheeks, nose and ears, I used pinks and browns. I love brown and pink together. I have a new "For You Bear" coming out today too. Check it out here.

Kick UpYour Heels

I made this card for this weeks Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge #24

Lots-o-Buttons and Bows

and it worked out well for SCS's Inspiration challenge IC628 from yesterday.

I used Cowgirl Boots from the shop. I printed it three times and colored them with water pen and ink. I used the whole image for the base, then the top boot from second image and just the rose from the third image. I usually color at least two full images and then use the best one for the top images. Then I stacked them with foam dots to give them some dimension. I used my nesties to create the frame then added a lot of brads (embellishment 1) all around. I sponged the paper edges to get a bit more western look. Then added multiple prints of digi flowers (embellishment 2) from the Quilted Butterfly image.

I punched leaves using a MS punch then sponged the edges before gluing them around the flowers. I used a bit of brown organza ribbon the break up the background (embellishment 3). Next came a big polka dots bow (embellishment 4). I ticket punched the corners of the background panels and added a brad in each corner.

Are you kidding me?! Another week in a bathing suit...no way no how. This body does not do bathing suits! LOL. OK OK, just this once but I'm hiding in the water with it up to my chin. My New Quilt set from my sister

I received this quilt set from my sister Cathy. She loves to make quilts which really fantastic because I love quilts and hate to sew...LOL

She and Margaret (Cathy's friend) made throw pillows and pillow cases to match. The whole set is soooo beautiful. Even the underside is beautiful so I turn down part to be able to see both sides.

Here is a close up of the pattern, look at all the pretty fussy cuts.

She also made this tote for me. She added extra pockets inside. I was supposed to sew this myself but I only got as far as cutting it out and handed it over to her...did I mention I hate to sew.

I love this bag. I have pockets for everything and lots of room to carry my books. It is lighter than my other purse that was half the size. Love it Love it Love it!

Birthday fun

This week at Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge we are celebrating May birthdays.

Here is a card I made using Sweet Flowers Birthday cake digi. I also used some DP printed background I created (tutorial below). I like this set because it looks so sweet on the outside then you open it and you get a joke.

Tutorial

Create DP from Wallpaper images

Go to a wallpaper web site and copy the picture of a paper you like. Be sure to select the paper to get the larger image. Now, in your photo software create a new file. I usually make a page 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Now copy in the wallpaper file twice. Move the second copy so it is overlayed toward the bottom of the first copy and the right and left sides are straight. Adjust the print pattern so it matches up. Repeat this until you have a column a little longer than the page size just like a strip of wallpaper. Copy this column then move it to the side of the first column. Adjust the print to match up with the print on the first column. Just as you would real wallpaper. Repeat this until you cover the page. You will have images over hanging on at least three sides of your page.Now crop the whole image to the size of your page.

Tatters has been at it again! I have to keep my eye on this little rascal all the time.

It's a Daizy Day

Rose Cottage

I'm a little late for the tea party but at least I found the perfect cottage for the royal couple.

The image is in my shop in the 'Cottage' section, well, where else would it be?...hehehe

I colored three images, cut out the arbor and rose covered fence part from two images then stacked them with foam pads to get a 3D effect. I cut out the flower box from one image and also added it with a foam pad. I framed the whole card with lace. Another idea for this image is to enlarge it to card size and have a shaped card.

The sentiment is computer generated.

Oh my, the tea and crumpets are spectacular this week!

Blue Bird B and B card

Tea Pot Tuesday MMTPT143

I drew this image by starting with another image Butterfly House.

I then turned it into a tea pot and added the little birdy.

I printed and colored 3 images. Then I cut out and stacked pieces with foam bits to get the 3D effect. The roses are from a super friend Theresa. I was so surprised to get a package all the way from South Africa...Thank you Tee. The leaves are punched with a MS punch then sponged with SU's old olive. The lace is a bit of old lace from my flower arranging days some 20 years ago. The DP is retired SU. I used my new Nesties and sponged on the blue while the paper was still in the die to get the white 'frame'. The image is colored with water pen and ink and color pens.

Christmas In April

I made this folder for the Happileigh Scrappin' challenge team this week. Inside is a Christmas 'To Do' list.

I used three images from my shop, Calendar Set, the tag from Tatters Stocking and He Is The Reason.

I punched the top with my Zutter Bind-it-all. I was going to use rings to put the pages together but decided to use ribbon instead.

It measures 5 1/2" x 6 1/4"

I used the pre-colored versions of all images except the calender pieces. Those I colored with coloring pens.

The DP (retired) is from Stampin' Up.

Blue Bird B and B

I didn't get any cards made this week due to a horrible accident my DH had last Monday. His blood sugar dropped to 32, he passed out and started going into a diabetic coma. When he fell he cracked his skull on the hard kitchen floor. He went into convulsions due to the hard hit to the head. He has a fractured skull but is doing amazingly well. I brought him home from the hospital today with hardly any signs of the accident. I will be watching his blood sugar carefully now instead of him doing it. When he drops below 100 he gets a little loopy. My stay in Idaho is totally off now. When I think what would have happened if he had been here alone....
Now on to fun stuff
I love being a TPT (tea pot tuesday) cheater. It gives me time to come up with a fun digi. So for all my fellow teapotter's here is another freebie for the upcoming TPT over on SCS (split coast stampers). Each Tuesday I move the previous weeks digi into my shop. A Royal Wedding

Here is a card I made using "The Royal Couple". I printed several so I could stack her train to make it look like it is coming from behind her and then spreads out in front of the couple. I made the background by printing a small rose print in grayscale. I made the large white ribbon rose after watching a tutorial online. Her blog name is something like Stamp Dog but I can't find it again. So here is what I did according to her tutorial...

Supplies needed:

1 inch satin ribbon

Scissors

two sided sticky tape

1 3/8 inch circle punch

scrap paper

Heat gun

Clean metal cookie sheet or some kind of flat metal plate

embelishment for center

Cut the ribbon 16" long. Now clip across the ribbon at 1 inch intervals. Do not cut all the way across.

______________________________________

Clip off the corners of the 1 inch 'petals'.

Make sure your cookie sheet is on a heat safe surface.

Holding the ribbon down on the cookie sheet, heat the ribbon with the heat gun until the 1 inch 'petals' start to curl. The first one or two will take longer until the cookie sheet heats up.

Punch a circle of paper the same color as the ribbon. Cover one side of the circle with two sided tape.

Starting on the outside of the circle start sticking the uncut edge of the ribbon around the outside edge of the circle. Adjust the ribbon as you go by pinching little pleats as needed. Spiral in to the center until all of the petals are adhered to the circle.

Adhere the embelishment in the center of your rose.

You're done.

No Bee just the bounty

Look what I received today in the mail. My sweet friend Tee Gerber sent me some fun blog candy.

Feathers and stems and ribbons to tie,

Crystals and pearls and charms, woohoo,

Buttons and flowers and glitter, oh my.

Unusual for me, I did a plain and simple card. I punched a 1" strip of black with a border punch. Ran some peach paper through my cuttlebug and a dotted embossing folder. I colored the flowers with waterpen and ink then coated the flowers with crystal effects. So simple.

A bounty of sunny daisies

Hi everyone. I got a little punchy today, hehehe. After playing with my border punch to see if I could create a nice frame I decided I really needed to use it on something. So I printed out Bee Bounty and came up with this card. It's a good thing too. I just realized I can give this card to my MIL for Mother's day, woohoo, I'm ahead for a change.

I printed off 3 copies of Bee Bounty. I used my cuttlebug on the first image with a 3" round Nesty, then ran it through again using the dotted embossing folder. Then I cut out the 2nd image and then cut out the front daisy and the bee from the 3rd image. I stacked them with foam dots.

The round frame is yellow cs 3 1/4" nesty and the scallop is a 3 1/2' scallop round nesty.

The center frame started out as a 4 1/4" piece of cs. Then punched twice around all sides. Someone else probably has a better way to get the punch even and get the corners matched up better than I did.

For the piece across the bottom, I started out with a 1" x 4" piece of white cs. Then I centered the paper in the punch then punched again on either side. I repeated this on the other side to get a ribbon like strip.

Hello fellow tea potters, Here is a free digi to use if you want to for this coming weeks tea party. Meet Rufus, he loves to try new things and this week he decided to try the guitar. He's not doin' to bad...at least he's holding it right. But boy how is he ever going pick the strings with those huge paws?

Stop and Sniff the Flowers

To make this card I colored (waterpen and ink) 2 copies of the image, 'Stop and Sniff the Flowers', Then I cut out the flowers and butterfly from one image. I used foam pads to pop up the flowers. I put the background panels together then ran them through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder to emboss the entire background. I made a bow and accented it with a yellow button.

Cookie Recipe

I made up some cookies yesterday just using what I had in the kitchen (which wasn't much). They turned out so yummy I thought I would share the recipe with you. Now, I didn't measure when I made them so I'm kind of guessing at the amounts I used.

Buttery Sugar Cookies

No refrigerating time

Heat oven to 350 degrees F

Cream together: 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 1 cup butter flavored Crisco, 1 egg.

Mix dry ingredients: 1 tsp salt, 1 1/2 cups flour, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/4 tsp baking powder.

Mix dry ingredients with creamed ingredients, this will be dry and crumbly.

Melt 1 stick plus 2 tbls butter or margarine and pour into mixture.

The dough will be very buttery.

Form dough into little balls approximately 1 inch and place on ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 11 to 12 minutes. My oven cooks a little hot so you may have to bake your cookies a little longer. The cookies are done when they start to flatten.

Makes 6 dozen.

Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Tea Party Time

I made this card for Linda, a dear friend of mine. If you've read my previous post you'll know why. If you haven't read it scroll on down. There is a free digi there too.

I colored the images with waterpen and ink on two copies of the image. I stacked them with multiple foam pads to get the wings to curve. The sentiment is computer generated specially for Linda.

Early Teapot Tuesday

Hi everyone. Next Tuesday at Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Tea party she will be sponsoring a destination station for a very deserving woman in Idaho. If you would like to join us in bringing a little sunshine to a really nice lady come join us. She's had a pretty rough life the last couple of years. She fell down the stairs and has had multiple surgeries to fuse almost her entire spine. She is disabled because of this. While dealing with all of this her husband is very ill with Parkinsons and Alzhiemers. She spent her younger adult life caring for 20 foster children over the years hoping to give them a better childhood than she had. Some of those 'kids' still come to visit and still call her Mom.
For those of you that are not familiar with Destination Station, it is a forum post that Mothermark sets up on Split Coast Stampers each week. Each week a deserving person is sponsored as a recipient. The idea is to send cards to the recipient to bring some love and brightness to their lives.
Linda is the person we are sending cards to next week.She loves cats and butterflies. And you won't believe the teapot image Mothermark was able to find for Tuesday's Tea Party. It's perfect.

Teapot Tuesday Lots-o-ribbon

I used Kooky Teapot 1 and colored it twice with waterpen and ink and stacked them with dimensionals. Then added a third level with the little bug. I used a cuttlebug folder to emboss the oval background. Added a bunch of pearls to the teapot design and pink organza ribbon with a pink gingham ribbon. I used an old SU dp from my stash for the background.

OOOOOPS, I forgot to post about this card and Monday's Challenge.

Well, I guess late is better than not at all.

I made this card for this weeks Pastel challenge at Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge.

This weeks challenge is to use pastel colors in honor of spring. Yea! It's finally here!

I used the Happileigh Scrappin' image 'Bunny And Lady Bug'.

I used water pen and ink to color the image and MS butterfly punch for the butterflies. I also used crystals and pearls as accents.

This is another Easter Card I will be sending to my granddaughter.

This card is going to Kim. Here is Cindy's write up about Destination Station...

This week's destination is Brampton, Ontario. We will be sending our cards to Kim, the cousin of fellow SCSer/Teapotter Laurie (Virgo05). Kim was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with stage 4 prostate cancer which has spread to his bones. Kim is young, only 41. A recent bone scan showed the cancer is in his arms, legs, spine & pelvis. Kim was relieved to find it had not spread to his other organs. He considers this a good sign. Kim has started radiation treatment as well as hormone therapy and he continues to remain positive yet realistic!
Laurie is requesting that the cards we send to her cousin be postive, uplifting, and funny. Anything along those lines, to boost his spirits for the rough days that lay ahead.
You wonder why Ford? Kim is the Chairman of Local 584 at the Ford Company. His favorite hockey team is the Boston Bruins. He loves football but doesn't have a favorite team. He recently has taken up landscaping/gardening. His favorite food is steak and a side of crab legs and he loves red wine and having his friends over for dinner!

Teapot Tuesday For a little girl.

I created this card and image for today's Teapot Tuesday challenge. You can find this image 'Plant A Seed' in my shop here. This challenge is for a little 6th grade girl suffering from ovarian cancer. For more info here is the link to the challenge. The instructions for this step card are here at Expression with Heart.

The colors are way out of my comfort zone but it was nice to play with them. When I was half finished with it I realized the colors seemed very familiar. Then realized they were my high school colors, LOL

I printed two copies of the image. Then cut out the center. This gave me a frame. Then I cut out the flower image for teh center piece. Everything is popped up on dimensionals. I used my cricut and the dotted swiss embossing folder. I used a edge punch then saved the punched out pieces as accents.

OMG! I almost forgot!

I got so busy working on some fun home projects I almost forgot to post my Teapot Tuesday card! So here it is. I was so surprised after I cut out the background paper that one of the words was perfectly center. HEHEHE I'm all giggly about that. So to emphasize the word I cut just a bit of matching paper and glued it under the word.

I drew this kooky teapot for this card....then forget to save the image! What a BUMMER! The rest of the card is pretty simple. I used clear crystal brads for the corner and a bit of organza black dotted ribbon. I colored the teapot with Real Red ink but it came out looking pink so I went with it.

Vicki from Songbirds Nest sent me an award! Thank you Vicki. WooHoo!

To tell the truth I'm really bad about following through with carrying it forward to deserving bloggers. But, This one I think I can handle. UPDATE ON ANDREW! GOOD NEWS!

Here is the news we have been waiting for on Andrew, our little baseball player who was the recipient from the Teapot Tuesday challenge called Hey, Get Off the Mound! You're No Bad News Bassethound! For those of you who are making *Bell Ringing* cards for Andrew, this update will truly give us a reason to make celebratory bell ringing cards for Andrew. Remember, you can mail your cards at any time, upload to SCS on the 16th of March, and if you newbies would like to know what I am talking about, just email me and I will forward you the information as well as links to the special and wonderful Andrew Ringing the Bell image that Leigh made for us! Now here's the update straight from Charlene (cookiebaker) on Andrew! Whoot!

Praise the Lord, Prayer Warriors! Here's the news we've been praying for!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR FAITHFULLY PRAYING FOR ANDREW
Results of his February 28^th tests: Thanks and praise to God, Andrew's MRI looked great! He has more hearing loss in his right ear which will be monitored for many years. Down the road Andrew may need a hearing aid device to help with high frequency tones. He will need MRI’s every 3 months, then every 6 months and eventually pushing out to once a year. The short term goal is two years of crucially important cancer free scans. The long term goal is to remain cancer free for life!

Up next: feeling better, gaining strength, returning to attending classes at school, spring baseball and getting to live the life of a healthy 12 year old boy!

Such wonderful news! Praise the Lord and thank you to all who took the time to send your best wishes to a great kid.

You Light Up My Life

I created this easel card using my Cricut and the Home Accents cartridge.

The settings were: Size 1 - 4.75 inches (true cut size 5.5), using the shift and filled settings

Size 2 - 4.25 inches, using original shape key.

I used three differnet colors, burgundy, bright pink, pale pink.

I made the flower using three different size flower punches, 2 large, 1 medium, 2 small, held together with a brad then glittered.

The image is from my shop - Chandelier. After coloring I used a glue pen, I circled the candle flames then glittered.

Last night was one of those days. I had moved some files off of my laptop to an external storage. I tried to recover them last night. I can't get my daughter's wedding pictures to recover. ACK! Warning, NEVER listen to your husbands opinion about rearranging files on your computer and externals! ACK!

I did this card for today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge over on This Is My Story and SCS. This card is going out to Bobby in New Mexico. A young man that was severly burned and is working his way back to health. He wants to become a sports coach. Hence, the sports theme of the card and teapot challenge.

Ringing the Bell For Andrew

Here we go, it's all about Andrew, our little 12 year old baseball player (#8 on the Elm Grove Eagles) who has been fighting cancerous brain tumors he so unfairly has had to deal with instead of playing baseball. While we have been brightening the days of others, Andrew has been making progress, day by day, inch by inch and just recently reached a milestone in his fight against cancer. Some of you might not be familar with Andrew's story so here is a link to the original challenge back in August and the Destination Station Post to bring you newbies up to speed.

I was not familiar with this, maybe some of you are, but evidently at many cancer treatment centers, when a patient has completed their very last chemo treatment, they get to Ring the Bell which is a celebratory gesture marking their successful accomplishment in reaching the end of their chemo treatments. That is the milestone Andrew recently reached.

Charlene (Cookiebaker) was kind enough to share this video of Andrew on the day he Rang The Bell! Get your tissue box out, its very touching and will give you a warm fuzzy. Here is the link to the video.

What a wonderful thing for Andrew and his family! Yay! Unfortunately after Andrew rang the bell, his chemo made him sick and he spent more time than expected in the hospital and ended up with pneumonia. After more trying days, he fought that off and was released and is now back home. He has an MRI scheduled for February 28th. A clean bill of health would be the ultimate result there! And then his port will be removed March 1st, another milestone for Andrew! Keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a successful MRI result!

I think a challenge celebrating Andrew Ringing the Bell is in order. Don't you? One to let him know that once again, we are proud of him and his accomplishment. To make this more special for Andrew and his family, our talented and amazing fellow teapotter Leigh Grady has created an amazing personalized digital image of Andrew ringing the bell. Today's Teapot Tuesday challenge over on This Is My Story and SCS was to create a red carpet Best/Worst dressed teapot card. I drew this image for this challenge. It's so kooky and fun.

I colored her with ink and water pen in rose red. I created the background with a font called Broadway. What could be more apropos? I added a little bling with red crystals on her hat and her ring.

I am also entering this card in SCS CAS107 challenge.

I am also entering it in this weeks The Shabby Tea Room Challenge #50.

Tatters Bunny Suit

This weeks challenge over at Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge is a sketch challenge. We have a choice of a simple or fancy version. I chose the fancy version, love to add a lot of embelishments. Maybe I got a little carried away with it on this one. Almost lost Tatters in all the stuff.

Tatters Bunny Suit is a new image being released today in my shop. I am also releasing some other images.

See the previous post to see a couple of cards I made with this set. I am also preparing a tutorial to create a perpetual calendar using this set. I hope to have the tutorial ready next week.

On this card I colored Tatters with a water pen and inks on two copies of the image, one with more detail because it will be on top. I used an oval nestie to cut out the less detailed image. I cut out the detailed version and popped it up on top of the other image using dimensionals. I washed a celery green halo around the bottom Tatters image to give it a shadow. I cut out two scalloped ovals in two larger sizes to frame Tatters.

The roses are satin pre-made white roses. I used the water pen and ink on them to get the different colored roses.

Owl Be Seeing You

I made this card for Cindy's Teapot Tuesday's challenge over at This is my Story. I made up this owl image for this weeks teapot image of cute little owls.

I printed two images and colored both, one with a bit more detail. I cut out the image with more detail right on the image lines. The other I cut out with an oval nestie. Then I used dimensionals to pop up the detailed image over the second image.

Birthday Calendar Cards

We have a couple of birthdays in my family coming up soon so I made up a calendar set to celebrate them. This set comes with the calendar, a page of months and a page of dates. All three pages come in the set. You can find this set in my shop.

I used a couple of other digis, Jenny Jeans and Andrew, (Andrew is to be released at a later date) on top of the calendar page and made easel cards with them. I popped up the kids, months, days, and sentiment with dimensionals. I didn't use many embelishments. I didn't think these cards really needed any, just a bit of ribbon.

If you'll notice I am finally "making" cards again. I am back in my craft room and playing. YIPEE!

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

I made this card for my dear hubby for Valentines day.

I am finally feeling better and able to make real cards so last night and today I made a couple of cards.

For this card I used the Stitiched Heart Wreath set you can find in my shop. The paper is retired DP from Stamin' Up. I used the circle nestabilities to cut a round frame for the wreath. The wreath, tag and heart on tag are stepped up with dimensionals.

Hmmm...I wonder when Tatters will discover these teapots. I can't get him to stay out of my other tea things. I caught him eating all the sugar cubes out of my sugar bowl last week. Oh well, as long as he doesn't chip the china I'll let him play.

I am having so much fun creating these silly Kooky Teapots. I just wish I had my craft supplies with me so I could make real cards with these. Oh well, I'll be home Tuesday and can start making real cards again.

Tomorrow would have been my parents 66th wedding anniversay. My Dad didn't quite make it to celebrate his 86th birthday yesterday or their anniversary tomorrow. I made this card in honor of them and their long commitment to each other.

This new digi, 'I Do', was designed for the Happileigh Scrappin' Challenge inspiration this week.

I am also releasing a new design named 'Door Basket'.

If you've been following for a few weeks you might know my Dad died about a month ago. I am in Idaho helping my Mom around the place and don't have access to my craft stuff. So for the time being I am doing my cards digitally using the digis I sell at Happileigh Scrappin store. I actually have more fun doing them digitally because it's so much faster. When I am creating a regular card it some times takes me 4 or 5 hours before I'm happy with it. Digitally I just delete the piece I don't like and keep going. No sticky problems but, I do miss the embelishments, oh well.

These cards were made with a few of the new releases I put out last Monday. I add a few each week so keep coming back OK?

I've always loved the image of Santa praying before he sets off on his journey to visit children around the world. Praying that each gift will be treasured and his reindeer will be safe. Thank goodness his prayers have always been answered.

Santa's jacket and hat are coverd in snowflakes and in this card I have added a little sparkle on each one. Santa and the bit of holly are set up on dimensionals and I did a bit of "hand stitching" around the image.

Sisters Are Special

As I made the card for yesterday's Tea Party I could just imagine the girls as my sister and I. So that card inspired this new digi, Sisters Are Special.

There is a wonderful connection between sisters that just cannot be described.

When I use to travel alot I spent a weekend driving through Massachusetts and Connecticut in late October. The leaves of a miriad of tall trees were filled with such vibrant colors and the scenery was awe inspiring. I stopped several places, little towns with gift shops and even found a craft show being held in a field next to an old (1700's) Inn. I also stopped at a farm on a small road where the owners had turned their barn into a fantastic gift shop. I bought the funniest looking fabric turkey that still sits in my kitchen today. I saw the quintesential New England little white church with a tall steeple surrounded by tall trees and green grass and all through this magnificent weekend I kept wishing my sisters were with me. I know they would have loved it as much as I. It was such a great weekend but I know it would have been so much better had my sisters been with me.

Wallpaper tutorial

I made the background for this card by copying an image of wallpaper on Wallpaper-to-go's website. In a photo software package, I shrank down the image to fit 1/4 of an 8.5 x 11 canvas (shrink the image keeping the images pixel ratio, don't crop). I then overlaid copies of the image and adjusted the design of each copy to align almost like putting up real wallpaper. I repeated this until I filled the entire 8.5 x 11 canvas) Then of course, I printed the page on cardstock.

I love this saying. Before my father became ill we were going to build a large display sign like this digi to put out in the front yard for Christmas. Unfortunately he wasn't able to do it. So in honor of my Dad I've made this digi.

Fill Christmas with Love

Here is another new digi from Happileigh Scrappin' "Fill the Holidays With Love". For this card I filled in the white space with sparklies and used dimensionals to lift the tree off the oval. The digi set comes in four versions. 1, with images colored in without the design on top. 2, the image with the design without color. 3, as seen both colored with design on top. 4, the image plain (no color or cover design. This set makes quick work of making cards for the holidays.

Sing With Joy

I finally finished this card last night. As you probably know I colorize my images digitally (I don't color by hand well enough and I don't have any copics to help) but when I printed this image the mouse and bunny had a brown tint to them instead of gray. I spent a while (at least an hour spitting and fuming over crappy machinery) cleaning printer nozzles and all and still they came out brown. OOPS! Hehehe...I realized this morning that I was using the wrong color pallet when I was shading them. So the card has the brown but the image I'll send will be corrected to be a gray mouse and a white bunny with gray shadows. I'm still getting use to the Adobe color pallets obviously.

Here is a close up of the image. Since I printed so many of them to test the printer I went ahead and used them. I cut out a second image of the three song books and then cut another of just the mouse's book. I used dimensionals to lift them up. Then I added a little bling by using a little glitter around the book's edges.

Here is the image with the corrections.
